UK Troops Use iPad to Make War More Like a Video Game

The Royal School of Artillery in Wiltshire, UK has developed an iPad app to train soldiers learning to control artillery being fired at targets located several miles away.

Lance Bombardier Jason Markham makes the whole enterprise sound like he's playing Xbox:

"It makes it more fun instead of being sat in a classroom looking at a presentation being given information. If you're on a course you can take this back to the block and practise with it, even have little competitions with it."

UK officials insist the iPad is not a "gimmick," just the best technology for the mission. Story Continues
