Hipstamatic at War

Even though we’ve already seen some great war photography from the iPhone, New York Times photographer Damon Winter has taken some downright incredible shots with the new iPhone 4 camera and the Hipstamatic app.
The new iPhone camera is a huge improvement over last year’s model, so much so that it’s easy to forget about the 10 megapixel Canon in your pocket. Hipstamatic comes with filters that you set before you take the shot, so it doesn’t let you manipulate the image after you take it. That limitation may actually be a strength because once you find a film/flash/lens combo that works, the pictures look pretty awesome. Maybe not as awesome as Damon’s but you can still get effects that none of us could imagine just a couple of years ago. (via Gizmodo)
