Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the only game this fall that just might give Battlefield 3 or Call of Duty: MW3 a run for their money. We checked out the reviews online and, while the reviews are pretty strong, maybe Ubisoft should consider taking a break for a while because the gamers may be approaching burnout. That's not going to happen (a new game is coming next fall) and how much you enjoy things may depend on how much you enjoy movie sequels or new albums that sound like the band's most recent release.

Kotaku wonders if this sequel was released too soon, but finally decides that even though it "may not be the most ingenious and special game in its series, it just might be the best-playing one."

The Guardian also feels the boredom creeping in, but says Revelations "can confidently stand shoulder to shoulder with the better titles of 2011."

The Telegraph gives the game four out of five stars but complains that "with endless piles of side-quests, there’s also a sense of ennui creeping in, a lack of focus that no amount of micro-improvements can disguise."

Wired gives it a tired 7/10, says the series feels "paunchy with age" and takes a clear shot: "As you watch the introductory movie, the first things you see on screen are the names of six different development studios, located everywhere from France to Montreal to Singapore. It’s not entirely coincidental, then, that Revelations feels very much like six distinct games all stitched together."

IGN is more enthusiastic, giving the game an 8.5 and saying this is the "best Assassin's Creed yet, even if that victory is claimed by an inch and not a mile. If you've been following the lives of Altair and Ezio this long, you owe it to yourself to see their last adventure."
