After you've killed the enemy and they've come back as zombies so you have to kill them again, what's the next logical step for Call of Duty? Ghosts. Of course, there aren't many details about the plot in the game announcement, so "ghosts" could be a reference to some kind of new stealth mode for players, but let's hope the idea here is that you're supposed to take out spirits of the dead.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is due November 5th, but Activision is promising specifics about the game at the new Xbox announcement presentation on May 21st. The title was developed by the team at Infinity Ward, the company behind the Modern Warfare games in the series. They promise an all-new gaming engine (to take advantage of the new Xbox and PlayStation consoles).

Call of Duty: Ghosts will also be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, but (ominously) there's no word about a Wii U version of the game. Check out the vague announcement trailer below.
