Louis Zamperini passed away since we first wrote about Unbroken, the upcoming movie about his life scheduled to debut in theaters this Christmas. Zamperini got a lot of personal attention from director Angelina Jolie, but he's going to miss out on the acclaim he deserved on the film's release and his role as grand marshal of the 2015 Rose Parade. The first trailer for the movie has debuted online.

Louie Zamperini competed for the USA in the 1936 Olympics and later served as an Air Force Lieutenant during World War II. After his plane was shot down over the Pacific, Zamperini survived 47 days at sea before spending three years in a Japanese prisoner of war camp. His incredible story was chronicled in Laura Hillenbrand's bestseller Unbroken and that book is now the basis for a new movie directed by Angelia Jolie and written by Joel and Ethan Coen.

Based on the trailer, it looks like the movie wraps up shortly after he returns home from the POW camp. That means we'll miss out on his later work with the Billy Graham Crusade, but there's at least two or three movies' worth of action included in the trailer.
