‘American Sniper’ – “Oh, My God. Chris!”

American Sniper, Clint Eastwood’s film about legendary Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, is coming to Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD and Digital HD on May 19th from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Leading up to the release, Military.com will premiere three promotional videos that intercut scenes from the film to highlight the story’s themes. Today we’ve got a clip that highlights the tension between family and service for troops who fight at the tip of the spear.

Was Chris really on the phone with Taya, learning about the upcoming birth of his son during that attack in Iraq? It’s a movie and Clint Eastwood masterfully uses his storytelling skills to illustrate the pressures that thousands of military families have felt during our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We’ve also got an infographic that Warner Bros. has created for the home video release. It’s aimed at those folks who aren’t sure why they should pay attention to a movie about Navy SEALs. Seeing this concept of communications, I am inclined to better appreciate having had to que up for a call at the base or phone center or the old MARS. Cruising the river, talking to my gal about R&R and the s__t hits the fan. Ahh nope.

Back in the day, MARS was the only show in town in Vietnam at a Firebase.
