Older Bond fans know that Spectre was the evil spy organization at the center of the early Bond movies starring Sean Connery. For complicated business reasons (watch the Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 documentary for details), the producers lost the rights to use Spectre in the films until now. The reintroduction of Spectre continues the tradition of tying Craig's Bond back to the tone of the novels and early films.

The trailer briefly shows Andrew Scott (best known as Moriarty in the Benedict Cumberbatch Sherlock TV series) in his role as Max Denbigh, the head of a new "Centre for National Security" and quite possibly a foe for Ralph Fiennes' M and MI6.

Christoph Waltz shows up as Franz Oberhauser, apparently the head of Spectre and quite possibly someone from Bond's distant past.  Once again, it looks like Bond goes outside the system to track down information that leads to a confrontation with a villain.

The move introduces a new Aston Martin DB10, which will be sold to us regular folk in a limited edition of 10. Start saving your pennies now.

One more thing to note: Monica Bellucci appears to be the first age-appropriate love interest for a Bond actor since the first couple of Sean Connery films over 50 years ago. That doesn't mean he doesn't pursue much younger women in SPECTRE, including a character played by Léa Seydoux who appears to be the daughter of Mr. White, the guy who always warns Bond that he's in over his head.
