The iHome Power Clip backup battery comes in three sizes (2600 mAh, 5200 mAh and 7800 mAh) and comes with a carabiner clip to attach it to your backpack or bag. It's incredibly simple: two ports on the back (micro USB to charge the battery and USB out to charge your device) and a button on the front to illuminate the power level indicator lights on the battery's loop.

iHome lists the battery capacities this way:

  • 2600 mAh ($19.99 list):  12 hours of web browsing, 9 hours of talk time or 8 hours of video

  • 5200 mAh ($39.99 list): 24 hours of web browsing, 18 hours of talk time or 16 hours of video

  • 7800 mAh ($49.99 list): 36 hours of web browsing, 27 hours of talk time or 24 hours of video

In practice, I got a full charge and a half on an iPhone 6 with the 5200 mAh version.

The batteries are available in black, green, gray blue or red. There's nothing here in the way of moving parts and they'll take a beating. I ran over one with a lawn tractor tire and it was no worse for wear.

If you're the kind of person who's picky about their carabiner clips, you might not love the one included with the battery. It's a perfectly okay clip, but it's not a great clip. Of course, if you're obsessed with carabiners, you already have a large collection of clips you love, right?

If the batteries are out of stock at the iHome store, they're available at Overstock, Sears and Newegg.
