Sound Off: Did the Co-Chair of Trump's Veteran Coalition Cross a Line?

Al Baldasaro is a Marine Corps veteran, a New Hampshire state representative and the co-chair of Donald Trump's national veterans coalition. He also despises Democratic nominee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

How much does Mr. Baldasaro dislike Secretary Clinton? "Hillary Clinton, to me, is the Jane Fonda of the Vietnam," Baldasaro said during a radio interview on WRKO in Boston.

The Marine vet did not serve in Vietnam. He did serve in Desert Shield and Desert Storm and his son served in Iraq as a Marine Corps helicopter avionics technician.

Baldsaro kept going with some strong opinions about her responsibility for the September 11, 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya. "She is a disgrace for any, the lies she told those mothers about their children that got killed over there in Benghazi," he said on the Jeff Kuhner Show Tuesday. "She dropped the ball on over 400 emails requesting back up security. Something's wrong there."

And then he said this: "Hillary Clinton should be put in the firing line and shot for treason."

For obvious reasons, that's drawn the attention of the Secret Service. They're investigating Baldasaro for making a threat.

Trump spokesperson Hope Hicks most definitely did not have Baldasaro's back, telling the media that the co-chair of their veterans coalition "does not speak for the campaign."

Many Americans have strong opinions about Secretary Clinton, her email servers and the events in Benghazi. Some haven't liked her since Bill Clinton's days in the White House.

Did Al Baldasaro cross a line when he declared himself judge, jury and (potential) executioner of a major party candidate for president? Does his public role as a representative of the veteran community in the Trump campaign create a responsibility not to talk about politics the way lots of folks do around the dinner table?

Or do you think Trump should've backed him and challenged the Secret Service investigation of one of his veteran coalition leaders?

Let us know what you think. Sound off!
