Filming the Chariot Races in 'Ben-Hur'

The epic 2016 remake of Ben Hur is available now on Digital HD with Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD to follow on December 13th. Based on the massively successful 1880 novel Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ by Union Civil War General Lew Wallace, the book has now been made into major movies three separate times.

This year's model features Jack Huston as Judah Ben-Hur, a prince forced into slavery after his adopted brother accuses him of treason. He returns after years at set, bent on revenge. The novel's title kind of gives away what happens next.

We've got a clip from the bonus features that explains the technical process behind the film's chariot races, including drones and miniature cameras that didn't exist the last time they filmed a Ben-Hur movie in 1959.
