Veterans Share Their Experiences for Got Your 6 Storytellers

There's a consistent theme that runs through all the interviews we've done with veterans over last six years at Under the Radar: talking about their experiences is one of the best ways to process wartime experiences and ease the transition back to civilian life.

Veterans organization Got Your 6 is promoting the benefits of sharing through its annual Storytellers event. For the series' fourth year, veterans from diverse backgrounds gathered to share their stories in New York, Los Angeles and Washington, DC over three nights leading up to Veteran's Day.

The events were live-streamed on Facebook and now Got Your Six has collected some highlight videos on their site. We've embedded three examples below.

Sharay Santora grew up in a tiny Texas town before becoming a cryptologist in the Navy. She talks about her experiences on 9/11 and her growing support for movements like #BlackLivesMatter. Jeff Bosley is a former Green Beret who talks about hard work pushed him into an acting career. Bonnie Carroll is an Air Force veteran whose experiences in the Reagan White House helped inspire the whale-rescue movie Big Miracle. What happened next in her life led her to found TAPS, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.
