'Jason Bourne': Memory Still Fuzzy

Jason Bourne is out now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand and marks the return of Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass to the action series.

This time, Jason's off the grid and using bare-knuckled street fighting as a way to wipe out memories of his past. Back-alley gamblers love him as he takes on all comers. That isolated existence is destroyed once Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles) puts him back on the CIA radar and they decide to hunt him down and take him out.

Troubled past. Street fighting. A hunted man. This might sound to fans of straight-to-home-video classic Hard Target 2, but a bigger budget, better locations and Matt Damon elevate Jason Bourne to something more ambitious than the standard thriller.

Greengrass wrote the screenplay this time and he's still exploring Bourne's foggy memory and the origins of Operation Treadstone. Alicia Vikander joins the cast as a CIA analyst who will be a central character in the next sequel. It's a solid script but the series is missing writer Tony Gilroy, who may be off the project after he directed Jeremy Renner in The Bourne Legacy.
