Oliver Stone Believes Edward Snowden is a Man of Conscience

Oliver Stone's new movie Snowden is basically a theatrical remake of the outstanding 2014 documentary Citizenfour with Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Edward Snowden, Zachary Quinto as journalist Glenn Greenwald, Melissa Leo as filmmaker Laura Poitras and Shailene Woodley as Snowden's girlfriend Lindsay Mills. It's out now on Blu-ray combo pack, DVD, On Demand and Digital HD.

The movie insists that Snowden's leak of classified material was an act of conscience and we've got a clip where Stone and the cast discuss what they see as Edward Snowden's evolving perspective on the USA's national security policy.

The saga of Edward Snowden plays to one of Stone's favorite themes: a lone crusader tries to stop secret activities within the government. He explicitly made this movie to try to raise support for a real-life pardon for Edward Snowden, but recent revelations make that pardon extremely unlikely under President Obama.

Both the Blu-ray and DVD come with deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes featurette and a panel discussion about the film featuring Edward Snowden himself, Oliver Stone, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley.
