‘Max’: Hero Dogs Come Home

Max, the family-friendly movie about a military working dog who join’s his handler’s family after he dies in combat, is out now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD. We’ve got a pair of clips from the discs that talk about the real-life military dogs that inspired the movie.

Training Hero Dogs

In this clip, trainers from Vohne Liche Kennels demonstrate how dogs get certified for combat.

Dogs in Combat

In this clip, cast and crew talk about the experiences of canines in combat and how military dogs can also suffer from PTSD.

Max didn’t find a huge audience in a crowded summer movie season, but it’s exactly the kind of PG-rated family movie that people who complain about Hollywood say they want to see. There’s respect for the military and a not-t00-complicated mystery that leads to action sequences action-filled enough to keep squirmy kids entertained. Check it out.
